Showwcase is a social networking service built for coders to connect, share knowledge and find new opportunities. The guidelines below set out the ground rules for posting and uploading content to the Site. We have the sole and absolute right to interpret and enforce these guidelines, and may also seek the views of relevant industry experts from time to time. Your use of the Site, whether as a content creator, consumer (including a paying or non-paying subscriber) or otherwise, is subject to the Terms of Use [https://about.showwcase.com/tos], which incorporates these Content Guidelines. Any terms that are used in this document without defining them have the same definitions given to them in the Terms of Use.

For the avoidance of doubt, any user of the Site is deemed to be providing content on the Site when re-sharing or commenting to any post on the Site, and shall therefore be equally bound by these Content Guidelines.

We may disable, delete or hide any content if we conclude that the content has contravened these guidelines, and/or impose other restrictions (including but not limited to account suspension or termination) at our sole and absolute discretion. We reserve the right to revise these Content Guidelines from time to time at our sole and absolute discretion with or without notice.

1. Legal

   • Do not publish, post or upload any content that breaches any laws or regulations. We urge you to comply with intellectual property laws and to respect the works of other users/creators by not infringing on their privacy or any other legal rights. You are solely responsible for the content you publish, post or upload on Showwcase, and solely liable for any loss, harm or damage caused to your or others by the content you publish, post or upload on Showwcase.

2. Overview

   • Showwcase aspires to be a safe community and platform for sharing, discourse and expression. However, we also believe that critique and discussion of contentious issues are part of robust discourse, and will endeavour to find a fair and sensible balance between these two priorities. Please take note that any form of harassment, humiliation, bullying or threats is strictly not allowed and will not be tolerated.

3. Hate

   • Showwcase shall not be used to publish, post or upload content or fund initiatives that call for violence, exclusion, discrimination, defamation or segregation based on protected classes. Offending behavior includes serious attacks on people based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability or medical condition.

4. Private Information

   • Do not publish, post or upload, threaten to share, or incentivize the sharing of another person’s private information (including but not limited to contact number and location) without their express authorization and permission. You are also prohibited from threatening to expose private information belonging to another or encouraging others to do so.

5. Plagiarism

   • Do not publish, post or upload any material or content that was written or created by someone else and claim it as your own. Do not also publish, post or upload any material or content that infringes others’ intellectual property rights or proprietary rights.

6. Impersonation

   • Impersonation, which includes posing as another person, brand, or organization is strictly prohibited. This also applies to Showwcase itself: do not use Showwcase’s name, logo, or trademark in any way that misrepresents Showwcase or misleads or deceives others.

7. Destructive and Illegal Activities

   • Do not publish, post or upload material or content that promotes destructive or illegal activities, including but not limited to material or content that advocates, threatens, or shows you causing harm to yourself, other people, or animals.

8. Spam and Phishing

   • We are zealously anti-spam and anti-phishing. If you are importing a mailing list from another platform, please ensure it consists of people who specifically opted-in to receive emails from you. Do not add people to your mailing list without their consent, and do not import your contacts list or social graphs. Similarly, you are prohibited from creating any content or publications for spamming or phishing purposes. Do not publish, post or upload spam when interacting with other users on Showwcase, such as in comments, discussion threads, or email replies.

9. Nudity, Porn, Erotica

   • Nudity, porn or sexually exploitative content is strictly prohibited on our platform. We reserve the sole and absolute right to hide or remove content that we deem content of this nature, this includes, but is not limited to, hiding and removing it from Showwcase’s discovery features, including search and Showwcase.com.

10. Showwcase Subscribers

    • The philosophy behind these guidelines also applies to Showwcase users across the platform, including those who have subscribed to Creators. We believe that content creators are most capable of managing their communities and subscribers, but there are some occasions when we will review reports of subscribers’ behavior and take the appropriate actions if necessary.
